A mega award ceremony is coming up in the valley in which many government departments would be felicitated based on their services to the public after 2014 September floods.The awards titled ‘Arachnid Awards’ would be held by ‘Arachnid’ a valley based event management company on March ,6 at Silver star Hotel at Nowgam, Srinagar.The organizers said that the event would be first of its kind in the valley in which officials from various departments besides volunteers would be awarded.“The main aim of this event is to bring people on the limelight who have helped the government inresuming services of their respective departments in less possible time after September floods in 2014. Besides we will also felicitate those who have been volunteers from different NGOs and have been rendering services to the public,” Dayan Manzoor, founder of Arachnid told KNS.
The organisers said that they would also felicitate the prominent figures from the private sector as well. “We are expecting as many as 100 officials and head of the departments. The award will belong to the department for showing remarkable performance but it will be received by its head. We would hold such awards in every season just to encourage the government departments, private sector and NGOs to work with utter zeal in future,” he said.The organisers said that it would hold more such awards in future to felicitate people from different walks of life.
