Thanking people of Hyderabad for giving historic mandate to TRS in the municipal elections, Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday promised that the government will treat all the people living in the city equally. With the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) set to win over 100 seats in 150-member Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), the chief minister said all those living in Hyderabad are children of Hyderabad."All are children of this city whether they come from Maharashtra, Kerala, Karnataka or Andhra Pradesh. It is the constitutional duty of the government to protect every citizen and we will perform this duty," said KCR, as the TRS chief is popularly known.

He said the massive mandate shows that people of Hyderabad are with TRS and HIM.The chief minister said people had given a befitting reply to those who were creating apprehensions in the minds of people from Andhra Pradesh settled in Hyderabad."The results show the victory of TRS was historic necessity," he said in an obvious response to Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu's call during the poll campaign that victory of TDP-BJP alliance is the historic necessity.KCR said those making tall claims were reduce to single digitS. He advised the opposition to offer constructive suggestions and come forward to work with the government to make Hyderabad a "truly global city".Pointing out that never in the history of municipal elections in Hyderabad had a party crossed 52 seats, KCR advised his party leaders and cadres to be humble in this moment of historic victory.Stating that poor's agenda is TRS government's agenda, he said the victory would have some meaning if corporators work hard to make GHMC corruption free.He announced that one lakh double bed-room houses for poor will be constructed in the city.

KCR said three new government hospitals with strength of 1,000 beds each and equipped with facilities at par with corporate hospitals will be built in the city in one year. Two new reservoirs with storage capacity of 35 to 40 TMC will be built to overcome drinking water problem.KCR also announced that on the lines of Mumbai, Hyderabad will also have island model of electricity supply. "We will ensure that power doesn't go off even for one minute in the city," he said. The government will also build skyways, multi layer flyovers and signal free traffic junctions and improve drainage system, he promised.
