Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister flagged off Quick Response Vehicles with two emergency fire fighting system fitted on motorcycles from his official residence, Oakover, here today thus adding another milestone for strengthening fire services network.Congratulating the authorities of Fire Services, Chief Minister, said that Himachal Pradesh had emerged the second State in the country for having added quick response vehicles and motor cycles into the fire fighting network in the State. He said that henceforth all the 22 fire stations and seven newly opened fire posts had been equipped with vehicles and rescue equipments. He said that Rs. 5.50 crore had been spent over providing latest fire tenders and fire fighting equipments to equip fire services with advanced technologies available in the world. He said that the State was adequately equipped to meet any exigency occurring due to fire accidents and the quick response vehicles would be responding to any such call and was capable of penetrating into narrow lanes in the semi-urban areas. He said that additionally motorcycles which had also been fitted with required equipments and were capable of entering into very narrow lanes in the habitations would be capable of rising to the call of the people.Dhumal re-iterated the resolve of the State Government to modernize and strengthen the fire fighting system in the State and protect people against any fire incident. He said that more fire posts had been opened during past four years besides providing buildings, fire tenders and modern fire fighting equipments to the force. B.Kamal Kumar, Director General-cum-Director, Fire Services, welcomed the Chief Minister and thanked him for flagging off the quick response vehicle fleet to add to the fire fighting system in the State. He briefed Chief Minister about the facilities available in the new vehicles.Suresh Bhardwaj, Shri Randhir Sharma, MLAs, Shri R.S.Gupta, Principal Private Secretary to the Chief Minister and other senior officers were present on the occasion.
