A book on psoriasis titled ‘A Comprehensive textbook of Psoriasis’ was released at the 44th national conference of Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists and Leprologists at Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.The book has been authored by Dr Peerzada Sajad (Registrar Dermatology GMC Srinagar) and Prof (Dr) Iffat Hassan Shah (Head of Deptt. Dermatology,GMC Srinagar.According to authors psoriasis is a genetically mediated disease which is characterised by well defined red coloured scaly plaques especially over extensor aspects of the body.It is pertinent to mention here that it is the second book which has been authored by the same authors.The book has been written in a simple and lucid language which is expected to benefit undergraduate and postgraduate students and teachers.The recent burning issues in psoriasis such as metabolic syndrome, childhood psoriasis and psychosocial aspects of psoriasis are a special feature of the book.
