Shiromani Akali Dal President Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal today described Capt Amrinder Singh and his party too feeble to counter the socio-economic development based election campaign and manifesto of SAD-BJP alliance and thus confined themselves to false and negative publicity. He questioned the total silence of former Chief Minister Amrinder Singh over comparing his regime’s achievements with SAD-BJP achievements or spelling out his future agenda for the development of the state.

In a statement issued here, Mr. Badal said that the futuristic manifesto of Shiromani Akali Dal had numbed the Congress leadership. “Congress party had earlier shown its bankruptcy to present innovative ideas by copying the achievements of SAD-BJP government in its so called manifesto and now Capt Amrinder Singh and his entourage had resorted to their age old practice of giving false statements”, he added.

Describing the party manifesto as innovative and inventive approach towards addressing the future of a predominantly young Punjabi population, Mr. Badal said that a team of experts had provide the revenue structure for each and every plan outlined and every commitment made in the manifesto. He said that SAD-BJP government’s rationalized polices have doubled the revenue of state government to 76000 crore, which was just 35000 crores during Captain’s regime. He promised to raise the figure of state’s revenue to 1, 70000 crores within next five years and that too without paying burden on any class. He said that SAD-BJP government had implemented almost all the commitments it had made in previous manifesto, whereas, Capt. Amarinder Singh deliberately did not start free power for 36 long months despite promise made by Congress party in their earlier manifesto. He said that now Congress party was even running away from promising free power what to call of continuing it.

Giving an account of SAD-BJP government’s achievements, Mr. Badal said that alliance’s initiatives to make state power surplus, computerising all land records, administrative reforms and Right to Service Act to ensure time bound delivery of 67 services, spending Rs 6,967 crore on roads, Rs 412 crore on ROBs, bringing world class universities and technical institutes for higher education and opening Adarsh school to provide quality education at grass root level, installing RO systems, water supply and sewerage systems besides a series of another development projects had pushed the state into a higher orbit of socio-economic development.

Appealing the voters of Punjab to vote on the account of development initiatives of SAD-BJP government, Mr. Badal said that a repeat mandate was must to continue the pace of development of the state. He said that if people of Bihar were wise enough to repeat the mandate for NDA government, same was expected from wise electorate of Punjab. He said that it was for the workers to consolidate the positive vote for the alliance to ensure clean sweep victory of the party.
