Divisional Commissioners/DCs To Check The Records Of Daily Property Registration-Majithia

To Submit Reports To FCR Every Fortnight , Mandatory To Record The Details Of Buyers And Sellers During Registration Of Property

Bikram Singh Majithia, Revenue Minister, Punjab has asked the pisional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners to randomly check the records of daily property registration, with a view to bring more transparency and efficiency in the functioning at Tehsils and Sub-Tehsils. Majithia said that all the pisional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners would submit their reports to the Financial Commissioner Revenue fortnightly. He said that this exercise would be the part of Revenue Reforms initiated by the SAD-BJP Government with a sole aim to provide hassle free revenue services at ground level. He said that after going through the records of registries in Tehsil and Sub-Tehsils, the designated authorities would mention the number of registries, irregularities, if any, along with the action to be taken. The Minister said that in order to make this record checking system more effective, the pisional Commissioners would not only check the fresh cases but would also verify the cases which have already been checked by the Deputy Commissioners. He said that pisional Commissioners and DC would have to keep record of registry numbers, for the purpose of easy access of registries. He said that the concerned enquiry officials would have to maintain the record of all checkings. Majithia said that now the complete details along telephone numbers of the buyers and sellers would also be kept in record with an aim to wipe-out of the corruption completely. He said that by contacting on these numbers, officers of revenue department would check the corruption in tehsils and sub-tehsils, if any.  He said that this initiative had shown great results  besides eliminating corruption and the revenue of department had also increased in some districts.  He said that now it is mandatory to register the Phone numbers of both parties at the time of registration of land. 

The Minister also said that SAD-BJP Government has decided to dispatch the mutations on the permanent postal address given by the concerned parties within 15 days. He said that a limit of two weeks has been fixed to deliver the mutation under the Right To Service Act 2011. He said that applicants would have to deposit of nominal fee of Rs. 25 as postal charges to avail this facility. He said that all supervising officers have been asked to make sure the implementation of these orders at all levels in its true spirit.
