The support for Balbir Singh Sidhu, Congress candidate from Mohali continued to pour in from all sections. In the course of his election campaign today  Sidhu visited Sector 68, DP Society Phase 10 , Phase 3B1, Phase 7, Phase 9 , Jalvayu Vihar. In Sector 70  Resident welfare Association, Resident Welfare Society, Welfare Association rishi Apartments, SCL Society, MIG Independent Association, MIG Super Welfare Association, LIC Welfare Association and Mandi Association declared their support for Congress.

People expressed their resentment against the Akali Government for totally neglecting Mohali for last 5 years and not allowing the Council to function. They said that Ramoowalia was a political turncoat whose only aim was political rehabilitation and step into the the ‘corridors of power’ by riding on their shoulders.

Sidhu said that Ramoowalia is known for mastering the political art of ‘use and discard’ who never visited the people of Faridkot who elected him to Lok Sabha. Similarly he treated the people of Sangrur shabbily who voted him to power. Then he  junked the SAD to become the member of National Commission for Minorities with the Congress support. And again,  he cultivated CPI-M leader Harkishan Singh Surjeet to become a minister in the Central Government. He alleged that “a disgruntled Ramoowalia finding his Lok Bhalai Party not taking off, fell at the feet of the Badals for his rehabilitation in politics despite the fact he had been abusing and accusing the Akalis of ‘political fraud’ for years together. And, now a political hopper that he is, Ramoowalia is out to play a political thuggy on the people of Mohali.”

The Janta Market Phase 3BI traders also extended their support to Sidhu. The traders said that for 5 years Akalis had taken no cognizance of their problems and had defrauded them in the case of shop allotment. Sidhu said that once the Congress Government is installed he shall take up all their problems on priority. The market assured Mr. Sidhu that he shall win with max. majority from Mohali.
