Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chief Yasin Malik on Wednesday said that the massacres carried out in January 1990 represent an "ugly face of Indian terrorism in Kashmir"."Kupwara massacre on 27th January and before that Handwara massacre are glaring examples of state-sponsored Indian terrorism in Kashmir," said Malik in a statement issued here to CNS.He said that Kupwara and repeated massacres like these on one hand represent the Kashmiri resilience and love for freedom and on the other hand these are a glaring example of Indians using their military might to suppress the freedom struggle of Kashmiris.

"From Gawkadal to Kupwara and from Sailan Poonch to Handwara these Kashmiri Jalyanwala Baghs are also an ample evidence of the double-faced approach of the international community which has turned a blind eye on these mass killings." Malik also condemned the arrest of JKLF and other pro-freedom leaders at Kupwara today. He said that "no killer till date has been arrested and instead of this so-called rulers are not even allowing a prayer meeting for those killed brutally by their forces.
