The Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab S. Sukhbir Singh Badal has said that only strong and stable government can be the foundation of development and the amount of development done by SAD-BJP government during the previous two years cannot be matched by any other party. During Sangat Darshan at Barnala he said that in order to ensure development and prosperity, it is highly important that state and central governments work in tandem. He also said that the Punjab government enjoys a very close and harmonious relationship with the central government which has resulted in rapid economic development of the state. He expressed confidence that the SAD-BJP would form the government for the third time in 2017 which would lead to acceleration of the pace of development.

The Deputy Chief Minister said that Shiromani Akali Dal has always contributed to the development of Punjab in a big way and whenever the party has assumed the reins of power, the standard of living in Punjab has always touched a new high. Taking a dig at AAP and Congress, S. Sukhbir Singh Badal said that the sensible people of Punjab should not pay heed to the misinformation campaigns launched by these parties and should give a third chance to the genuine party of Punjabis which is Shiromani Akali Dal and its alliance partner BJP so that a new chapter heralding the development of Punjab be written. He also said that AAP and Congress governments don’t enjoy cordial equations with the central government, the ultimate of brunt of which has to be borne by the common people. In a lighter vein, the deputy chief minister said that the present government of Delhi is in the habit of locking horns with the central government and the same holds true for the earlier Congress governments also.

He also informed that the strong road, rail and aerial networks contribute a major deal towards the progress of any state and from this point of view, Punjab is scaling new milestones. He further said that a sum of Rs. 20000 crore is being spent on 4 laning and 6 laning of roads and also many state and national highways are being widened. Divulging more, he said that Punjab is the only state where maximum social welfare schemes are going on. He also made a mention of free power to farmers costing 6000 crore to the state exchequer besides atta-dal, shagun scheme, Free health insurance scheme and Mukh Mantri Tirath Yatra. He assured that with the commencement of sewa kendars, the rural people would get government services easily and without any hassle at their doorstep.Earlier, the Deputy Chief Minister inaugurated new district administrative complex at Barnala besides beginning work of R.O.B. on the Dhuri-Bathinda Rail line. He also inaugurated new veterinary polyclinic at Thikriwal and sewerage & drinking water at Sekha Chowk. He also said that Rs. 200 crore are being spent on carrying out development work for Barnala.

Profusely praising PadamShri Rajinder Gupta on the occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister said that their trident company is contributing a lot to the development of Punjab. On the occasion, S. Sukhbir Singh Badal conducted sangat darshan at Badbar and Handiaya and disbursed grants worth crores to the village panchayats. At Badbar, the Deputy Chief Minister addressed the problems of panchayats of 15 villages on the spot and distributed grants. He also inaugurated krishi vigyan kendar and a senior secondary school besides conducting sangat darshan at Handiaya.On the occasion, Finance Minister S. Parminder Singh Dhindsa, Education Minister Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema, Chief Parliamentary secretary Sant Balbir Singh Ghunnas, Chairman District Planning Committee Mr. Rupinder Singh Sandhu, District President SAD and President Municipal Council Barnala Sanjiv Shourie, Special Principal Secretary to Deputy Chief Minister, Mr. Rahul Tewari, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Gurloveleen Singh Sidhu, SSP Mr. Upinderjit Singh Ghuman and others were also present.
