The Governor of Punjab ,Haryana and Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh, Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki, while Chairing the meeting of Managing Committee of Punjab Amalgamated Fund of Sainik Welfare, here today, asked the Directorate Sainik Welfare Punjab to generate more avenues for the proper rehabilitation of the Ex-servicemen and their dependents, to ensure them a life of dignity, self-respect and honour.After discussing at length, the proposed budget of 3.62 crore for two years and other important issues in the committee headed by Prof. Solanki passed the budget for the welfare of Ex-servicemen.Number of decisions has also been taken regarding various welfare schemes to benefit Ex-servicemen, widows of Ex-servicemen and their wards. Prominent among these were grant of financial assistance to blind Ex-Servicemen & Widows of Ex-servicemen, grant of financial assistance to handicapped wards of Ex-servicemen/widows, financial assistance to students studying in Regimental Schools, grant for coaching scheme and scholarship to wards of Ex-servicemen/widows.The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary to Governor, Mr. M.P.
