Minister for Finance and Ladakh Affairs, Abdul Rahim Rather today laid the foundation stone of Kheerigund bridge with a proposed cost of Rs. 27.61 lakhs.Beating the chill in falling snow, a huge gathering of people listened to their MLA in the small hilly village of Kheerigund. The village is landlocked and this bridge will serve as the only connecting link for vehicular traffic.The Minister also inaugurated a PHC in a rented accommodation till a building for the PHC comes up. Stating that this PHC shall have a male doctor, female doctor and a dental unit too and these healthcare facilities were of utmost importance in this hilly village. Advising people that they should ask the parties which shall come to seek their votes, as soon as the election begul is sounded, as to why did not this area was deprived of developmental work in their time? As to why no infrastructure came up in the area during their government? The candidates who pass this litmus test deserve public support, he declared.
Rather Assured the people that construction of Hanjura-Kherigund footbridge is on his priority list and the same shall be fulfilled soon. Constructing massive bridges, weaving a web of macadamized roads in the topographically difficult parts of Chrar is not a cake walk, he said, stating further that he left no stone unturned in providing best infrastructural and other facilities in his area and the younger generation which saw these comforts and facilities in current government's reign should not forget that it requires will, resources and other efforts and all this didn't come up on its own. His and his government's concerted effort has always been there to serve public.At the end he also appealed people to support his party's candidate, Mr Farooq Abdullah in parliamentary elections. Terming Farooq his leader and also the leader of the masses, he said that Farooq Abdullah's contribution in the welfare of the people of J&K is unmatched. Ensuring the people of his constituency all support from his side, he requested them for their love and support as well.
