The Punjab Government has issued orders to initiate action against the long time absentee Zila Parishad teachers, who did not join their respective duties even after the expiry of their ex-india leave.Disclosing this here, Panchayats and Rural Development Minister Surjit Singh Rakhra today said that it has come to the notice of Punjab Government that nearly 100 ETT Teachers working under Zila Parishad were enjoying ex-India leaves despite expiry of their respective leaves. He said that this was leaving loss to student's education as they were unable to complete the requisite syllabus in absence of teachers. He said that during the inquiry hold by the Panchayats Department, it has been come to fore that majority of absentee teachers were enjoying foreign tours.Elaborating the steps being taken against the erring teachers, Mr. Rakhra said that chargesheets have been issued against 70 teachers by providing them a chance to explain their state while chargesheets to be issued to the remaining 30 teachers in coming days.The Minister also said that necessary directions have been issued to identify more erring teachers, if any for requisite action.
