District Development Commissioner Kulgam today chaired a meeting to finalize the arrangements for Republic Day Celebrations .It was given out in the meeting that the celebrations will begin with Shehnai Wadan followed by unfurling of tricolor by the Chief Guest .Contingents from various wings of J&K Police, IRP, CRPF, Fire & Emergency, Homeguard, NCC, besides students from various educational institutions of the district will take part in the march past.The DDC took detailed review of the arrangements with regard to security , water and power supply, illumination around the venue, sanitation etc. He stressed for coordination among the concerned departments for the National event.
DDC directed Chief Medical Officer, Kulgam to deploy an ambulance with doctors and paramedics and life saving drugs at the venue on the Republic Day.Regarding cleanliness and sanitation in and around the venue, DDC directed the officers of Municipality Kulgam to deploy the required man power during the rehearsal and main function.It was also informed that similar functions will be held at Sub Divisional level and Tehsil headquarters across the district.
