Govt committed to improve socio-economic conditions of backward areas: Sakina

Minister for Social Welfare, Sakina Itoo Thursday said the government has taken several initiatives to extend all basic facilities to both urban and rural areas besides several concrete steps have been taken for upliftment of remote and far flung areas of the state.The Minister was addressing a huge public meeting at Ghasran, Damhal Hanjipora here today. She said that the present coalition government has spent crore of rupees to augment health, education, power, drinking water supply and above all the welfare measures for downtrodden and deserving sections of the society. Appreciating the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah for formulating various comprehensive projects for the state of Jammu and Kashmir, Ms. Sakina said that during the last five years regime, the state registered new heights in progress and prosperity in almost all the sectors related to people’s welfare.Directing officers to work with zeal and dedication, the Minister asked them be sincere to their duties and perform well while extending various facilities to people of the state. She hoped that the initiatives taken shall fulfil the aspirations of the people in all the three regions of the state.
