Indian skills, Japanese technology combine benefits both: Piyush Goyal

India's skills and lower manufacturing costs combined with Japanese ingenuity and advanced technology will benefit both countries, Coal and Power Minister Piyush Goyal said on Tuesday following the eighth edition of the India Japan Energy Dialogue here."Japan's technology & ingenuity+India's skills & lower manufacturing cost is win win for both," he tweeted.

A joint statement was signed at the end of the dialogue by Goyal and Japan's Economy, Trade and Industry Minister Motoo Hayashi."At 8th India Japan energy dialog discussed (i) Clean Coal Technologies (ii) Super-Efficient Appliances and LEDs...(sic)," Goyal said in another tweet.

As part of its strategy for energy efficiency, India is encouraging wider use of light emitting diodes (LEDs), particularly for public lighting, also by trying to reduce the cost of LED bulbs.At the seventh India-Japan Energy Dialogue held in New Delhi in September 2013, both sides agreed to collaborate closely in the coal sector on coal washery technology, promotion of high-efficiency use of low rank coal and the implementation of communication system for safety in coal mines.
