Hundreds of mourners participated in the last rites of a Kashmiri 10 years old boy whowas killed by unknown persons in Phagwara area of Punjab.  Javid Ahmed Lone, a class 4th student was slaughtered by goons in Chandigarh after they looted cash and expensive shawls from his room. His body was brought to his native village Wayousa Kawnar hamlet of Handwara town in North Kashmir where hundreds of people offered his Nimaz-e-Jinazah. The mourners amid anti-BJP and anti-RSS slogans alleged that the boy was butchered for being Kashmiri. They demanded that culprits should be brought to justice and a murder case should be lodged against them.

The funeral procession was led by local legislator Engineer Rashid. In his address to the mourners, Rashid said that “let so called champions of peace and so called communal harmony explain if a non-Kashmiri would have lost his life in Kashmir would the response have been similar as to the killing of 12 year old Irshad. Certainly not, the J&K Police would have used the opportunity to interrogate and torture many Kashmiris and created hawk among innocents. From Kashmir to Kanya Kamari blood of Kashmiris is being treated much more thinner than the water and every unfortunate killing is being given justification by one way or the other. The so called national media which always is in search to find the smaller incidents those could prove Kashmiris intolerant and communal, as usual has turned blind eye to the brutal murder of Irshad.” Rasheed appealed the authorities to show some sense of humanity and authority and trace out the killers without further delay. Rasheed announced for family financial assistance worth fifty thousand from Joint Effort Trust. (CNS)
