Sukhbir Singh Badal, Deputy Chief Minister, Punjab ridiculing the proposed plan of Congress Party to announce Mr. Rahul Gandhi as Prime Ministerial candidate against BJP’s Gujarat CM Mr. Narendra Modi said its fact that Congress had to face massive debacles in those states where Rahul Gandhi canvassed for the party candidates. Answering media queries after presiding over Sangat Darshan program at Lehra Mohabbat, the Deputy CM said that Congress should announce Rahul Gandhi as PM Candidate as early as possible since this decision of Congress Party would prove last nail in its coffin in ensuing Parliament elections. Mr. Badal said Mr. Rahul was nothing in comparison to Mr. Narendra Modi before his long political, administrative, governance experience and development vision. “NDA is keen to hear the name of Rahul Gandhi as Prime Ministerial candidate of Congress Party, so congress should come with the announcement in this regard,” he added.In a query regarding demand of Bhai Gurbaksh Singh for release those Sikh prisoners, who have completed their sentence, Mr. Badal categorically said that SAD was always in favour of releasing those, who have completed their sentence. He said that the names of detainees provided by Bhai Gurbaksh Singh relates to other states like Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.
When asked about recent judgment of Apex Court regarding entitlement of red beacon, Mr. Badal said it was a constructive decision and this should be implemented in true spirit. He said that they would take necessary steps after studying the ruling of Supreme Court in this regard.In another query regarding opening of Fazilka border, Mr. Badal said that it cannot possible in the regime of UPA Government but also assured opening of this border will be priority of NDA government, which is all set to form next government at center after 4-5 months. He said that not only Fazilka border several issues with the neighbouring country would be sorted out as it was discussed with the Pakistan Punjab’s Chief Minister Mr. Shahbaz Sharif, younger brother of Pakistan PM Mr. Nawaz Sharif.Earlier addressing Sangat Darshan program, local Member Parliament Mrs. Harsimrat Kaur Badal said it was the call of the hour to brush aside Congress led UPA Government in favour of country and countrymen. She said NDA government was the need of the hour and there should be no third term for UPA.
Meanwhile, Deputy CM addressing the plaints of Lehra Mohabbat residents, Mr. Badal directed the authorities concerned to come out with a comprehensive plant for total concrete streets, sewerage and water supply connections for all households. He said that within next six months this area would be equipped with all basic amenities besides having sewerage facilities. Mr. Badal and Mrs. Badal presided over Sangat Darshan programs at Lehra Mohabbat, Nathana, Chaoke, Mandi Kalan, Ballianwali and they laid the foundation stone of Government Primary School building at Ballianwali, which would be constructed at the cost of Rs. 16.5 lakh.Mr. Badal also announced that within next 15 days Powercom would provide 1.5 lakh Tube Well connections to farmers having less than 5 acres agriculture land. He said that Powercom officials would approach the farmers in coming days as all the preparations and formalities have been finalized.Prominent amongst those were present on the occasion included Mr. Janmeja Singh Sekhon, Irrigation Minister, Mr. Sarup Chand Singla, Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Mr. Harjinder Sidhu, Assistant Media Advisor to Deputy CM, Mr. Kamal Kishor Yadav, Deputy Commissioner.
