Commenting on the statement of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Capt. Amarinder Singh that Congress may form alliance with Manpreet Singh Badal, the Shiromani Akali Dal  said that  the Congress party is free to use the services of Manpreet Singh Badal in whatever way it wants. Everybody knows that  Congress party and Manpreet Badal are two sides of the same coin.In a statement released from the party head office here today the party Secretary and Spokesman Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema said that in Punjab assembly polls Congress was under the impression that if Manpreet Singh Badal goes to polls as a separate group, it will benefit the Congress but the people of the state were aware of the unprincipled and selfish understanding of both of them and they taught them a lesson. But now the beleaguered Capt. Amarinder Singh, under attack from the leaders of his own party, is playing another tactics of declaring a pre- poll alliance with Mr Manpreet Singh Badal. It shows the bankruptcy of both the leaders and their last ditch effort for political survival. Dr. Cheema also said that only similarity between the two leaders is that before elections both of them make tall promises with the public and after elections they advocate banning of subsidies and other welfare measures.Dr. Cheema further said that keeping in view the circumstances in Delhi where the Congress party has been totally exposed as the mother of corruption as well as the mandate for the Punjab assembly and the Civic body elections, Capt. Amarinder Singh should stop daydreaming. “Whatever may be alliance the Congress will face the same fate as that of Manpreet Singh Badal”, he added.Replying to the issue of election manifesto, the SAD leader reminded Capt. Amarinder Singh that instead of advising the SAD-BJP alliance,  the Congress leader should read the election manifesto he released during assembly polls in 2002. After remaining in power for full five years, the Congress party  failed to  provide free power to the farmers, shagun scheme to dalit girls, 4-9-14 promotion scheme to the employees, abolition of octroi for traders, job to one member each of the scheduled castes families and so on. It looks funny that the same Capt. Amarinder Singh who backtracked from all the promises he made to the public, is questioning the SAD-BJP alliance on the issue. He said that SAD-BJP alliance has a history of fulfilling what it promises and will repeat it during its present tenure.
