Chief Secretary stresses on timely action, proactive approach to achieve goals

Chief Secretary, B R Sharma Monday asked administrative secretaries to catalogue department wise achievements of the year 2014-15, to act as a ready reckoner for looking at a clear picture of what has been done during the last one year. He said year wise cataloguing of progress will also help Government in assessments and accomplishing goals of development rapidly.Chairing the Committee of Secretaries (CoS) meeting here, Chief Secretary asked secretaries to provide regular update with regard to the implementation of directions/ commitments of the Chief Minister during his tours. ‘’ Each department should create a special cell for the purpose to catalogue and update the status of implementation of the CMs instructions”, Mr Sharma said.

Directions were also passed on administrative secretaries to further strengthen the working of the legal section of their respective departments for proper and timely filing of appeals so that interests of the state are defended in various litigation's before the court of law. “Be proactive in follow up on the cases of your respective departments and take immediate and appropriate action” Mr Sharma told secretaries in the meeting.Preparations with respect to the upcoming Budget session were also reviewed by the Chief Secretary with directions to ensure presence and readiness in replying to the anticipated questions and issues of public interest raised by the Legislators during the proceedings. ‘’

Chief Secretary also received brief on the status of revised DPRs, transfer of land to H&ME department, proposal for creation of faculty, with regard to establishment of new medical colleges in the five districts of Baramulla, Anantnag, Doda, Rajouri and Kathua.  Meanwhile, Mr Sharma also reviewed department wise status of vacancies referred to SSB and PSC under the fast track recruitment initiative, 3000 posts for migrants and preparation of Results Framework Document (RFD) 2016-17 besides other issues.
