Cracks were developed in many buildings in Bangladesh as a moderate tremor trembled the county early Monday. The quake has shaken whole the country at around 5:10am local time, reports from across the country said.Raufa Akhter, a resident at Nawapara industrial town in south-western Jessore district said, ‘several cracks were developed in our residence due to the tremor I felt at around 5:10am.’Jobaida Akhter of Dhanmandi residential area in capital city Dhaka said her five-storey building was shaken in the tremor. Syed Muyeejur Rahman, retired English teacher of a private university in Sylhel told 5 Dariya News that he never felt such earthquake in his 70s.
SM Hafizur Rahman, retired manager of state owned Sonali Bank in Khulna said, ‘I woke up suddenly and got off the residence as my 5-storye building was shaken in the tremor.’ Kazi Abdul Wazed, former chairman of a union council in Magura district told 5 Dariya News that moderate tremor felt everywhere in his area.Kazi Ashfaq Uddian Ahmad of Nawpara in Jhenidah district told 5 Dariya News that he never felt such earthquake in his life. Marufa Zaman, a housewife in Narail district headquarters she felt large scale quake while she was sleeping.Rashidur Rahman of Kushtia district, Latifa Akhter of Khulna and Shahana Saif of Jessore told that they felt the tremor while they were in deep sleep.
