The Shiromani Akali Dal today ridiculed Capt. Amarinder Singh President PPCC for making promise students to provide internet facility to the students in educational institutions and said that it is better if he gets equipped with ground realities of the state before making promises for facilities which already exists in state.In a statement released from party head office here today, the SAD Secretary and Spokesman and Punjab Education Minister Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema said that people of Punjab well understand the position of Capt. Amarinder Singh who mostly enjoys remaining out of the state for his ‘holidays’ and seldom cares for what happens in the state.He said that Capt. Amarinder Singh must be aware of the ground realities before making promises. He said that more than six thousand schools of the state already have internet connectivity and those who are lacking are those which are situated in border areas.
Dr. Cheema further reminded the state Congress Chief that Reliance Industries Chairman Mr. Mukesh Ambani has already announced that 4 G services would be available in each and every village of the Punjab for which infrastructure is being laid. He said that beginning of this service is just a matter of days now and after launch of this service not only government educational institutions but almost every department would provide its services online.
The SAD leader said that it is understandable that Capt. Amarinder Singh after spending 10 years in oblivion has now started his political activities with an aim to grab power but the circumstances have changed in the state ever since he was ousted by people of state power and now not only basic facilities but ultra modern facilities are being provided to the people by pro poor, pro common and pro people government led by SAD-BJP alliance.
