To assess and resolve problems faced by people living in the old city area, Minister of State for Education, Culture and Information Priya Sethi today held an extensive tour of Ward Number 2 and its adjoining areas.Senior leader Yudhvir Sethi was also present during the tour.Underlining commitment of the government towards better urban infrastructure, the Minister said that the present dispensation is steadfast on its resolve to develop capital city on most modern lines and major projects have been initiated to upgrade urban infrastructure in the city. She said the government is working towards bringing development to the doorsteps of the people, adding that addressing development aspirations of the people is top priority of the government.“Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji has launched AMRUT mission and the government would ensure that a robust network of sewerage and water supply is established for urban transformation,” she added.

Senior officers and Engineers of NBCC, PHE, JMC and other line departments accompanied during the tour.Taking cognizance to the condition of lanes and drains in Jollaka Mohalla, Priya directed the NBCC authorities to immediately take up the pending sewerage connectivity works in the areas. She said that the people are suffering as door to door connectivity to main sewer has not been completed and the allied works of tiles and construction of drains are getting delayed.She called upon the NBCC to prepare a lane wise project plan and the work should be taken up in a manner that minimum inconvenience is caused to the local residents. She said urban infrastructure works have to be expedited and it has to be ensured that development works get completed within stipulated time.

The Minister also visited the local ISM dispensary and inspected the facilities in the dispensary.She directed for construction of modern toilet in the dispensary and called upon the authorities to take up required civil works in the dispensary.She also directed the PHE authorities to ensure adequate supply of potable water in the area and old worn out water pipes are replaced so that people get clean supply of water.Speaking on the occasion, Yudhvir said the coalition partners are working as the agenda of alliance and development is main focus of the agenda. He said transparent, responsive and corruption free administration would be ensured and all out efforts are being made to ensure that long pending development issues are resolved within shortest possible time frame.

He said the people of the ward had time and again represented their genuine issues of development and now with the assurance from the executing agencies the sewerage works would be initiated and completed within the stipulated time.“Our Prime Minister has launched ambitious projects and it is our duty to join hands with the mission of development, social welfare and financial inclusion which has been launched for the people,” he added.He said that people’s aspirations for prestigious AIIMS, IIT, artificial lake and other such projects have been addressed and special attention is also being paid to put in place the most modern urban infrastructure in the city of temples.Prominent among others who were present on the occasion include, Jagdish Kumar, Lalit, Vijay Gupta, Pardeep Langeh, Rajinder, Dr. Pawan Dogra, Sunny Dogra, Vishal Kohli, Arun Sethi, Anil Masoom, Nithesh Trikha, Darshana, Hira Lal, Raju Verma, Saroj, Sharda, Surinder and Vipin Shastri.
