In order to ensure smooth conduct of Republic Day celebrations in District Anantnag, a review meeting under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag Mr. Muneer-ul-Islam was held here today.The meeting was attended by all sectoral officers besides police and different security agencies.It was decided in the meeting that foolproof security arrangement shall be made around and enroute to the venue.It was given out in the meeting that the main function shall be held at Government Degree College Boys Khanabal, Anantnag where the Chief Guest shall hoist the National Flag and will take Salute at the march past. The contingents of J&K Police, IPR, CRPF, Fire & Emergency, Home-guard and NCC will participate in the march past.The DC stressed on all sectoral officers to ensure their presence and active participation in the programme.
The meeting also held threadbare discussion with regard to seating arrangements, barricading of venue, drinking water supply, electricity and illumination around the venue, sanitation and heating arrangements.The Chief Medical Officer was directed to deploy an ambulance with men and machinery and lifesaving drugs at the venue on the day of rehearsal and on Republic Day.Among others the meeting was attended by Additional SP Anantnag, Commandant 11thbn, Principal Degree College (Boys) Anantnag, SE Hydraulic / R&B /PDD , Concerned Engineers, Dy Director Fire & Emergency, District Youth Service & Sports Officer , CMO Anantnag , CEO Anantnag and all Tehsildars of the District, ARTO and Dy. SP, Homeguard Anantnag.
