Rajnath Singh pays homage to deceased BSF officials

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and MoS Home Shri Haribhai Parathibhai Chaudhary and Shri Kiren Rijiju today attended the last rites of BSF officials at BSF hanger at Safdarjang airport, who lost their lives in a BSF plane crash yesterday. After paying homage to the BSF officials, they met the family members of the deceased BSF officials and expressed their grief over the incident. All the dead bodies were dispatched to their native places by BSF aircraft/vehicle with proper escort. Earlier in the day, Shri Kiren Rijiju visited the house of late Captain Bhagwati Prasad Bhatt, who was the pilot of the BSF plane. The BSF aircraft took flight on 22nd Dec, 2015, from Palam Airport for repair/servicing of Mi-17 V5 stationed at Ranchi. The aircraft crashed near Dwarka. Shri Najeeb Jung, Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Shri Rajiv Mehrishi, Union Home Secretary, Shri Devendra Kumar Pathak, DG, BSF Shri B D Sharma, DG, SSB and other senior officials of MHA, BSF and SSB were also present.
