Journalist found dead in Bangladesh

The body of journalist Awrangajeb Sazib was recovered by the police from the River Dhaleshwari in Bangladesh’s Munshiganj on Wednesday afternoon. He had been going missing for three days. Sazib was a stringer for Bangla language daily Bangladesh Pratidin, Independent TV, Bangla Vision, Somoy TV, and other media outlets at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. He was the former president of Bangladesh Medical Reporters’ Association.Quoting Munshiganj sadar police officer-in-charge Md Yunus Bangladesh’s reputed daily newspaper New Age reported that  Sazib’s body was found floating in the river near Munshiganj Launch Ghat around 3:30pm. He was wearing shirt, trousers, and a sweater. The victim’s wife, Morsheda Begum, identified the body, he said.” Rajin Ahmed, younger brother of the journalist, said his brother was killed in a planned way which will come out through investigation. He was heading to DMCH on Sunday morning from his house at Chawkbazar in the capital, Rajin said. ‘We cannot say how he boarded a Chandpur-bound launch.’ The body will be taken to the DMCH morgue for autopsy, he said.
