Minister of State for Education, Priya Sethi today inspected various Government Schools in Kachi Chowni, Bahu Fort, Pacca Talab and Gorakh Nagar to ascertain the progress of various reform measures initiated by the education Ministry during the past 10 months. Chief Education Officer, Joginder Kumar Sudan also accompanied the Minister during the surprise visit.The Minister took account of the facilities available to the students in the schools. She stressed on developing direct channels of communication with the students to improve learning and addressing issues students might have with regard to their studies. She also asked teachers to always have a detailed lesson plan prepared in advance so that lessons are imparted thoroughly on their part and clearly understood by the pupil.The Minister stressed that government schools need to leverage available resources and improve their method of imparting education so that students receive quality education and develop their personality in a much better manner. She asked the school managements to actively work towards achieving this goal adding that these measures need to be adopted at the elementary school level and should be carried forward to the higher levels also.Advocating strongly in favor of achieving the high standards in education sector, Mrs Sethi said that the policy of immediate ‘Prize and Punishment” will be put in place in the state to ensure time bound results in the education sector.

“Those in the education sector who perform the best to ensure time bound results as envisaged by the Government and raise educational standards of Government Schools will be rewarded and those who do not perform thereby down grading the educational standards of government schools will face punishment” She told teachers.As 2016 has being declared as the ‘Year of Expression’, the Minister instructed the schools to conduct interactive reading and communication skill development sessions to help students articulate and express themselves clearly. She also recommended schools to start special classes for the weak students and stressed on giving needed attention to computer education also.On her visit to the Government Primary School, Pacca Talab, Bahu Fort, the Minister instructed PDD authorities to ensure that transformer at the site does not pose any kind of risk and necessary corrective measures are taken to ensure complete safety of the students.Later, the Minister also attended a Christmas Mela at Sahara Special School to encourage and support the differently abled students. She said government is committed and has been consistently making efforts to provide assistance to these students by opening resource centers in all the 22 districts under the MHRD scheme and has made over 1500 schools around the state as disabled access friendly.
