Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh today said that in order to commemorate the victory of 1965 the Jammu and Kashmir Golf Association would be holding a tournament from December 25th in Jammu.The Deputy Chief Minister was addressing media during a press conference convened in connection with organizing the Golf Tournament to commemorate 1965 Vijay Diwas.It was attended by members of JK Golf Association and members of the organizing committee including IGP J. P. Singh, Brig. Samyal and other members.Highlighting the importance of holding such events, the Deputy Chief Minister said that it is an opportunity to celebrate the historic work done by our Army and would also go a long way in acting as a bridge between civilians and our armed forces. He said that the tournament would be played by leading officers of Army, Police and Bureaucracy. The Deputy Chief Minister said that the Governor of the State would also be participating in the event. He said that the event would be of historic importance and should be appreciated by all sports lovers.Highlighting the role played by the Army Dr. Singh said that besides guarding our frontiers they have also been contributing in other fields by way of various other programmes like Sadbhavna and related ones.
