Hanjura concludes 5-day tour of Budgam

Takes stock of developmental works, people's grievances ,Reviews physical, financial achievements under District Plan

To take stock of developmental works and asses the problems faced by the people during the winter months, the Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura today concluded 5-Day extensive tour of various areas of District Budgam.The Minister visited parts of Chrar-e-Sharief Constituency including Sursyar, Dadaompora, Chelyan Chontinard,  Watakloo, Kraligam and Ledan villages.A team of Senior Officers of district administration Budgam including Deputy Commissioner Mir Altaf Ahmad accompanied the Minister during his tour.Addressing series of public meetings at different places, the Minister said that the Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayed is committed to upgrade the living standard of the people of the State.

The Minister said that skill development programme and other innovative schemes like Ladli Beti and AASRA have been launched which will benefit a large section of the society particularly the youth and the women folk.  He added that NFSA is the biggest achievement of the present Government as after its implementation from next February, the poor and down trodden sections of the society would be greatly benefited.During his tour, Mr. Hanjura inaugurated newly constructed community Hall SABAAT at Pakherpora. Completed at a cost of Rs 39 Lakh.The well furnished SABAAT Hall with all facilities has been completed within a short period of 4 months which would facilitate the pilgrims visiting the shrine of Hazrat Syed Ali Aali Balkhi (RA).Vice Chairman, Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board, Peer Muhammad Hussain, District Development Commissioner, Budgam Mir Altaf Ahmad, Director Tourism, Kashmir, Mehmood Ahmed, Executive Officer Yousmarg Development Authority (YDA) and other officers of district administration were present on the occasion.The Minister along with VC Waqaf Board also visited the Ziriat Sharief of Sheikh Noor Din Wali (RA), Chrar-e-Sharief and took stock of the facilities available for the devotees besides he inquired about the arrangements made by the Management of the Shrine about the celebrations of Eid-e-Mulad Nabi (SA).Mr. Hanjura directed the district administration to prepare comprehensive plans for construction of Main Gate, Shoping Complex and Sanitary Units at Chrar-e-Sharief shrine and submit the same to the concerned quarters.

The Minister also asked the Management to ensure better transport facilities from Srinagar to Chrar-e-Sharief and from Pulwama via Pakherpora routes. He also directed them to maintain cleanliness in and around the shrine.Interacting with the people on the occasion, the Minister said that the Government is committed to beautify the surroundings of all the shrines, besides promoting more and more tourism destinations in the State. He said in this regard several initiatives have been taken and liberal funding is being provided for the purpose.VC, JK Waqaf Board Peer Hussain while interacting with the people, said that efforts are afoot to develop the Ziriat Sharief of Syed Ali Aali Balkhi (RA) Pakherpora on model lines and said that the Government is committed for its beatification.

During the visit, the Minister and VC, JK Waqaf Board paid obeisance at the Ziriat Sharief of Syed Ali Aali Balkhi (RA) and Sheikh Noor Din Wali (RA) and special prayers were held on the occasion. They prayed for peace, prosperity and development of State of Jammu and Kashmir there.During his tour, the Minister also convened an officers’ meeting at district headquarter Budgam and reviewed the financial and physical achievements of various departments under district plan 2015-16.It was informed in the meeting that an amount of Rs 103.66 crore has been utilized under different sectors in district Budgam during the current year, registering an achievement of 92.21 percent. Besides, Rs.23 crore have been realized as revenue on account of power tariff from the consumers of the district during the period.

It was given out in the meeting that about 84 schemes were approved under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), including 79 new projects and 5 up-gradations comprising 508.16 kms of road length. Under PHE sector, Rs 4.06 crore was incurred on different works during 2015-16 up to ending November, 2015.Under Health Sector, 100 percent of available funds were utilized up to ending November, 2015.Under Major Flagship Programme, National Health Mission (NHM), Rs 8.44 crore were spent on different works. Under MGNREGA, Rs 18.90 crore were spent on different works in the district up to ending November, 2015. 3081 works taken up, 1688 works completed while as 1319 finalized and 2,20,000 man-days were  generated. It was also informed in the meeting that 55653 job cards were issued. 

Under IAY, 1208 units were taken up, 474 units completed and 450 units finalized.Addressing the meeting, the Minister directed the district administration to conduct door to door survey and identify the persons living below poverty line, physically challenged and other deserving persons and submit their cases to the concerned quarters so that necessary financial assistance can be sanctioned in their favour at the earliest.Mr. Hanjura directed the administration to generate awareness among the general masses about the centrally sponsored and other State welfare schemes so that they can avail benefit of these.
