To strengthen the functioning of Village Level Education Committees (VECs) and to apprise them about different schemes of education department and their role and responsibilities in execution of those schemes, a training cum awareness programme was organised by Education Department Rajouri at Govt Higher Secondary School, Dhangri, Rajouri today. Terming education as the prime mover of society, Abdul Ghani kohli urged VECs to play effective role in bringing positive attitudinal change in people towards education and in mobilizing the community and motivating parents/guardians to send their children to schools especially girls and children from disadvantaged groups.During the programme, the Committee members were apprised about different schemes of education department and their role and responsibilities in strengthening the education standards of schools in their respective areas via execution of these schemes. VECs were also asked to monitor the working of the schools and highlight the deficiencies so that necessary facilities are made available in the schools.Meanwhile, CEO Rajouri, Altaf Choudhary presented educational achievements and activities of the district.
