The Deputy Commissioner, Shopian today convened a meeting regarding movement of vehicular traffic on Mughal road during the winters. The Officers of Mughal Road Development Authority, District Police, Traffic Police, Transport, Municipality and other departments were present in the meeting. During the course of meeting threadbare discussions were held about the condition of road and movement of traffic.The meeting also took stock of the stability of the road stretch from Shopian upto Baflaz. The Mughal Road Authorities stated that the condition of the road is not stable enough and during the wee and late hours the road condition becomes very slippery and risky due to low temperature in the area. It was decided that the vehicular traffic from Shopian side will be allowed only from 11 am to 4 pm. The general public of Shopian, Rajouri and Poonch districts are requested not to travel on the road during the early hours and late hours in order to safeguard their precious lives.
