The Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Dr Syed Abid Rashid today held a meeting with the representatives of Civil Society and leaders of Trade Union here to get appraisal of various problems confronting themThe Deputy Commissioner was informed about the problems being faced by the people in general and demanded that concrete measures be taken to address them on priority.The Civil Society representatives and Trade Union leaders presented their problems before the Deputy Commissioner including better supply of electricity, improvement in road connectivity of the remote areas of the district, adequate water supply, repair of transformers and transmission lines, decongestion of main town Kulgam from traffic jams, adequate stocks and supplies of essential commodities like ration and LPG cylinders, K.oil, repair and management of irrigation canals, maintenance of main roads and link roads, improvement of health care facilities  and check up on spurious pesticides.

Regarding the issue of erratic power supply in the district, the Deputy Commissioner gave clear directions to the officers of PDD department to adhere to the power supply schedule in the district so that people do not suffer in the winter. The Deputy Commissioner however, sought cooperation from the civil society and assured them that the district administration will work with dedication and zeal to ensure better services in Kulgam district in public deliverance and other development fronts.The meeting was attended by SP Kulgam, ADC Kulgam, ACR Kulgam, Engineers of PHE & PDD, besides other district officers.
