Div Com reviews progress of registration of Electoral Roll of Anantnag, Kulgam districts

To ensure cent percent registration of eligible electorate, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Dr Asgar Samoon, today chaired a meeting to take stock of Electoral Rolls Revision with the election officers of district Anantnag and Kulgam here at DC Office complex Anantnag.Divisional Commissioner was apprised in the meeting that wide publicity drive was carried out in the districts through electronic media, posters, hoardings, besides Panchayat committees and educational institutions for facilitating the registration of eligible voters. Also door to door campaign by concerned Booth Level Officers was held in every constituency of the districts.The Divisional Commissioner stressed for organizing special campaigns by the booth level agents of political parties for the left over eligible in both the districts.

He was informed that in Anantnag, a total of 4485 additions have been made and 3982 deletions have also been carried out besides 3884 modifications and 454 transpositions have also been made. Similarly, in Kulgam, the respective figures are 4436 additions, 3655 deletions, 1743 modifications and 206 transpositions have been made so far.The Divisional Commissioner also emphasized for updating the data base, uploading of photograph and updating of control tables besides preparation and printing of separate final Electoral Roll for the both the districts.In Anantnag, besides, the EPIC percentage of 96% and 95.5% in Kulgam, the EP ratio of 46.45 and 60.6% has been achieved so far in respective districts.The Divisional Commissioner also took stock of the preparations made for the celebration of National Voters Day. He was informed that in district Anantnag, the main functions will be held at all three SDM headquarters and the district level function will be held at GDC auditoriumKhanabal.Similarly, in Kulgam, the functions will be held at respective Tehsil headquarters and the district level function will be organized at GDC Kulgam.The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag, Deputy Commissioner, Kulgam, ADC Anantnag, ADC Kulgam, ACRs,  SDMs, and concerned Tehsildars of both the districts.
