While paying rich and glorious tributes to the great leader of the Tehreek-e-Islami and a great militant commander Shaheed Shams-ul-Haq on his 23rd martyrdom anniversary, Chairman All Parties Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Geelani said that Shaheed Ghulam Mohammad Mir alias Shams-ul-Haq was a God fearing, religious and a visionary personality who had dedicated all his life to serve the Islam and the freedom movement.In a statement issued to KNS, Geelani said that the best way of paying tributes to Shaheed Shams-ul-Haq and all other martyrs of Kashmir is that we should carry forward their mission and does not show any kind of tiredness and weakness on this path.He said that our martyrs had sacrificed their precious lives for Islam and for the liberation of this land from the forced occupation of India and have indebted us by sacrificing their “present” for our future. “We are duty bound to continue our freedom struggle against the Indian forced occupation in any way and at any cost. We have to show a united face in this struggle and we should not indulge in any such activity which could harm or damage our sacred movement.”
Meanwhile, while remembering the Sofi Mohammad Akbar on his death anniversary, Chairman All Parties Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Geelani prayed for peace and a best place in the Jannah for him.He said that the Sofi Sahab showed courage and firmness in 1975 when he rejected the Indira-Sheikh Accord which was a sellout of the sacrifices of Kashmiri people. Geelani said that it has been the tragedy of our freedom movement that its leaders first made their careers on this platform and later they misused their attained positions and entered into the power corridors but the Sofi Sahab moved against the tide and adopted the path of true leaders.
