Minister of State for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Forest and Animal Husbandry, Mr. Abdul Majeed Paddar accompanied by Minister of State for Power and Industries & Commerce, Mr. Mohammad Ashraf Mir Monday conducted an extensive tour of Sonwar Constituency and took stock of various development projects.The Ministers visited Balahama, Athwajan, Sonwar, Chatherhama, Khimber, Harwan, Dachigam and other areas. They interacted with several deputations and received first hand appraisal of their issues and demands.Responding to the public demands at Balhama, the Minister of State for PHE, Mr. Padder instructed the authorities of Forest Department to provide timber to consumers as per their need besides identifying land for establishment of Depot in the area.He gave on spot directions for improving supply of water in the area. He also instructed cleaning and bleaching of water tank to ensure safe drinking water to people.
The Ministers visited Water Supply Scheme Tangnar having capacity of one crore gallon at Sampora and took stock of its functioning. The Ministers enjoined upon the concerned to work with dedication so that people of the city get potable water at the earliest.At Chattergam, the Ministers met various deputations who put forth various demands. Responding to their demands Mr. Padder gave spot directions to concerned for providing timber to people.He also asked PHE authorities to take immediate measures to improve supply of water in the area. He directed them to install 15 more hand pumps in the area so that people are benefited.At Khimber, the Minister asked PHE engineers to speed up the pace of work on constructions of SR at Khimber water supply scheme besides exploration of underground water.While inspecting the ongoing work being executed on restoration and revival of pristine glory of Reservoir at Harwan, the Ministers said that it is an asset of our state and efforts are on for its restoration.The Ministers were informed that the project is being carried out at a cost of Rs. 9.68 crore and about 30 percent of work has been completed so far.The Minister’s asked concerned to speed up the pace of work on the project.Later, the Ministers visited Trout fish farm at Dachigam and took stock of its functioning.During the tour, the Ministers were accompanied by Chief Conservator Forest, Kashmir and other officers of various departments.
