Sharjah Ladies Club win trophy haul in the UAE 44thNational Day tournaments

Winners Achieved Great Results in Show Jumping, Shooting, Volleyball, and Fencing

The Sharjah Ladies Club (SLC) teams participated in sports competitions on the occasion of the 44th UAE National Day achieving excellent results in all the tournaments they participated in, winning a haul of trophies.TheSLC team came in first place at the Abu Dhabi Fencing Championship and player, Anoud Mabrouk, won the championship cup for excelling in the use of the épée weapon. The winners’ podium also received other SLC players, including Rayan Taleb who came in third place using the sabre weapon, while Latifa Salem came in third place in similar competitions.The outstanding horsewoman, Nadia Turaiem won first prize in the Abu Dhabi Show-Jumping Championship on the 44th UAE National Day while in the Volleyball Championship the SLC volleyball team beat the “Duty Free" team by 3-1.Finally, the Sharjah Ladies Club achieved great results in the National Day Shooting Championshipwinning the three top prizes in the women’s 10-meter air rifle competition.

Sumaya Marzouki won the first prize and received the championship cup on the podium, followed by Amal Al Musallem in second place, and Suhaila Balochi in third place.In the 10-meter air rifle competitions for the junior women category, SLC player LatifaAl Mazmi won the first prize and the trophy, while her teammate Alia Al Naibari came in third place. In the women's 10 meter air pistol category, player Salwa Saeed came in second place.Nada Al Naqbi, director of the Women Sport Department at the Sharjah Ladies Club, stressed the importance of participating in the 44th UAE National Day tournaments and said that holding such tournaments on this special occasion adds to its significance and relevance.Al Naqbi praised the results achieved, and said, “The fencing team consists of a group of young players who are naturally gifted and talented, which facilitates their acquisition of expertise and the enhancement of their performance, especially since honing skills is easier with young players. 

The same applies to the volleyball, shooting, and equestrian teams, all of which are preparing to participate in the Arab Women Sports Championship to be held in Sharjah in February 2016, as they are all the best teams in these games in the UAE.”Al Naqbi underlined the importance of the Arab Women Sports Championship - Sharjah 2016, noting the readiness of all SLC teams to participate in the event, particularly as they will be held for the third time in a row. She said that everyone is determined to represent the State and reflect an honorable image, and to achieve better results thanin the first two editions.The Equestrian Championship was held at the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club, the Abu Dhabi Fencing Championship,organized in collaboration with the UAE Fencing Federation, was held at Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Stadium, the Volleyball Championship was held in Ajman Cultural and Sports Club, and finally the Shooting Championship was hosted by Al Dhaid Cultural and Sports Club.
