Army in collaboration with Mahindra Pride School, Srinagar, today conducted a free counseling, interview and enrollment program in the fields of hospitality, retail sales and Information Technology at Gujjarpatti near Lolab area of district Kupwara. The aim of the program was to provide job opportunities and placement for youth with well known and established companies such as HCL, Vodafone, Dell, Infosys and other renowned hospitality enterprises.This joint initiative was to enhance the job opportunities for the youth and provide them free training and job related exposure. The event witnessed an overwhelming response where in over 150 candidates participated, with great fervor and enthusiasm, from across the areas of Lolab Valley, Kandi and Magam.
The selected candidates will undergo 90 days of training at Mahindra Pride School in Green Enclave Rajbag, Srinagar from Jan 16 onwards. This is a major initiative to bring the youth closer to the mainstream and offer them high quality training and equip them to attain better living standards. Events like this involving youth in such learning and educative activities would help in preparing them to face the job interviews and channelize their energy in right direction.The participants as well as the locals have welcomed such an initiative by Army for providing them a platform to shape their careers and earn a name for their families. This initiative towards a brighter future of the youth is a testimony to Army’s continuing efforts towards the growth and development of the region. (KNS)
