AIP supremo and MLA Langate Er Rasheed has asked politicians hailing from different walks of life not to mislead and misuse the people of the state over Indo-Pak dialogue resumption and added that these talks may mean anything good for people of India and Pakistan but the miseries of the Kashmiris have nothing to do with these futile talks. While addressing public meetings at Kunzer Tangmarg and Check-i-Sarmarg Handwara, Er Rasheed said that these talks have yielded nothing since last 68 years except easing or adding to the internal pulls and pressures of two countries. He said, “Let Kashmiri leaders of different thoughts try to have their own house in order and ask New-Delhi and Islamabad not to keep sentiments, aspirations and rights of Kashmiris hostage to interests of India and Pakistan. Rather praising two countries let Kashmiri leaders ask them clear and louder what Kashmiris deserve or at least what they have to offer Kashmiris.

The dialogue process can strengthen mutual ties between two countries, which Kashmiris would always welcome but how does it help in resolving Kashmir dispute when India is not respecting international commitments, bilateral agreements and is also engaged in weakening the mortal remains of special status which J&K has been enjoying.Unless Kashmiris don’t reach a common minimum agenda which should accommodate the aspirations and sacrifices of Kashmiris, every appreciation or criticism from Kashmiri leaders will mean nothing except helping in maintaining status-quo.” (KNS)
