Chairman Jammu Kashmir liberation front (JKLF) Muhammad Yasin Malik along with other leaders was Sunday arrested at Awantipora when he was going towards Bijbihara to address a public gathering at Kanalwan.JKLF spokesman in a statement to KNS said, “Malik was also scheduled to visit bereaved families of recently martyred youth and express solidarity with them. Among those who have been arrested with Yasin sahib include leaders Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi, Sheikh Abdul Rashid, Muhammad Amin Magloo and Shabir Ahmad Dabla.
Earlier Malik along with the delegation left for Bijbihara early in the morning. Police and forces had laid barriers to stop Yasin sahib at various places but he and delegation after bypassing many barricades managed to reach Awantipora. Police and forces had blocked the highway from both sides at Awantipora and as Yasin sahib reached the spot; police cordoned his vehicle from all the sides. Yasin sahib and others on the occasion sat on a protest sit-in on the highway. When people saw Yasin sahib on sit-in they came in large numbers and joined the protest. Police resorted to the use of force and dispersed people and arrested Yasin sahib and others.
Before his arrest, Malik while speaking to people and press at Awantipora said that present rulers had allowed JKLF to hold a public rally at Ganderbal after eight months. The rally was an exemplary peaceful show and despite short time and less resources a large number of people participated in the program and made it a success. After Ganderbal program, JKLF announced to hold a similar peaceful program at Kanalwan Bijbehira but today so-called rulers chose to ban it and have resorted to the use of brutal police force to sabotage the program.
He asked that has only one public Jalsa scared Mufti sahib who persistently repeats his so-called battle of ideas doctrine, in such way that he has resorted to Policegiri today? Yasin Malik said that if mufti sahib, his daughter and his party believes in democracy they instead of using police force, intimidations, black laws, restrictions, and arrests, should have some courage to compete with the resistance camp in political field.
Terming the recent statements of NC chief Farooq Abdullah and PDP leader Mehbooba mufti in which both had opposed Jammu kashmir’s freedom, as their slave mentality, Yasin Malik said that today ironically two seemingly contradictory minds have spoken in one voice against the freedom of Jammu Kashmir. Actually this is not their own statement .both of them are actually following the dictations of their masters in Delhi who want to change discourse of our struggle and want to create an atmosphere against popular freedom sentiment, asserted Yasin.
He said that these pro-India leaders have chosen the role of brokers for them and they seem very happy for being political brokers. He said that Delhi directs them to issue statements and then orders some others to oppose them and thus a good coverage is given to their statements so that discourse on Kashmir can be changed and popular sentiment of freedom can be maligned.
Malik said that India and its mercenaries in Jammu Kashmir should learn a lesson from history and should remember that despite their blaze and arrogance of power one day Kashmir will attain freedom from Indian occupation.( Insha Allah). Yasin Malik said since the matter of Mehbooba mufti jee assuming the charge of chief minister ship has come to surface, she is getting unmasked and her semi-separatist stance and crying for human rights is getting exposed slowly. He said that this lady when she was in opposition, used to carry photographs of young martyrs and raise slogans to punish policemen who killed them. To deceive common people she used to show concern over the spree of arrests especially on arresting youth. Today when she is sensing the taste of power, she has started showing her real face. She is on Indian televisions claiming to have gathered 25000 Kashmris for celebrating Indian Independence Day at sports stadium. She is intimidating youth and is saying that these boys will not be spared. She is claiming credit for organizing a grand rally for Nerander Modi in Srinagar.
Malik said this is the real face of these power hungry pro-India politicians and today those who used to differentiate between these people should repent and ask for Allah’s forgiveness for supporting such tyrants.
Malik said that every pro-India politician is same as their main job is to strengthen the illegal Indian occupation on Jammu Kashmir and provide necessary legal cover to killer forces of India.Malik said that during this PDP led regime in Jammu Kashmir, the oppression has reached its high and such oppression is being unleashed against peaceful political workers, innocent youth and students and common Kashmiris that have no parallel in past history. While criticizing the silence of civil society on these oppressive measures, especially arrest spree of youth in Kashmir, Malik said that civil society though speaks on many delicate issues and delivers sermons on daily basis but ironically is mum on political persecution in Kashmir. Why don’t they open their lips on oppressive measures of mufti government? Isn’t their silence a criminal one, asked Malik.
He also criticized the international community for its double standards and said that Jammu Kashmir has been turned into a police state. Nobody here is allowed to move, talk or act freely .thousands of young boys and students are being terrorized by the rulers. But international community for its trade and economic benefits is maintaining criminal silence.
Malik said that this double standard and hypocritical behavior of international community is making this world more and more dangerous and vulnerable as this is pushing people to more and more violence. Meanwhile people at Awantipora and Kanalwan Bijbihara protested against banning public contact program of JKLF and arresting JKLF chief. People in large numbers came out of their houses at Kanalwan and staged a protest sit-in at central Chowk of Kanalwan against arresting Yasin Malik. Many people addressed the protesters.
Meanwhile JKLF chairman congratulated JKLF United Kingdom zone and JKLF diplomatic bureau on opening an international headquarter of JKLF in London. While speaking on the occasion of opening ceremony of the international headquarter of JKLF in London, Yasin Malik said that today we are actually making the dream of father of nation martyr Muhammad Maqbool Butt true as it was his desire to strengthen the freedom struggle on diplomatic front. Yasin Malik hailed the efforts of Kashmiris living in UK and also JKLF UK and the diplomatic bureau for opening this central secretariat. He hoped that this center will work for the freedom of Jammu Kashmir and efforts will be enhanced for spreading the message of Kashmiris. (KNS)
