Minister for Transport, Abdul Ghani kohli today said that the state government has taken up massive programme of development and welfare of the state and steps are afoot to extend all possible facilities including connectivity ,water, power, education ,and health to uncovered areas particularly to the people living in far- flung and backward areas.The Minister was addressing a gathering at Kalalkass, Kalakote.Kohli said that strengthening of basic infrastructure is pivotal for socio -economic transformation of the people, adding that government is fully aware of the problems confronting the people and is making all out efforts to provide better amenities to the people at their doorsteps .Referring to various demands of the locals,the Minister directed ARTO Rajouri to ensure bus service from Rajouri Bus stand to Kalalkass within a couple of days besides instructed PHE department to install three hand pumps in ward no 4 and ward no. 5 of Kalalkass area as the locals are suffering a lot due to scarcity of drinking water.
In addition to this, PDD was directed to cover the unelectrified hamlets on priority basis .Meanwhile, the Minister impressed upon concerned officers to work in synergy , so that the bottle necks, if any are removed and the ongoing projects are completed within stipulated time frame so that desired results are seen on ground . He also underscored that focused attention is being given on improving road connectivity, augmenting drinking water and power supply, education and health care facilities equally across the district and directed the officers to perform their duties with dedication to provide better services to the people.Additional District Development Commissioner, Rajouri Avtar Singh Chib besides all sectoral officers accompanied the Minister during his visit.
