World Disability Day was celebrated at Shopian to highlight and draw the attention of policy makers to the issues facing disabled people in valley. On this occasion large number of people from across the district participated in the celebrations organised by Chief Education Office Shopian.District Development Commissioner Shopian flagged off the rally at Middle School Batpora Shopian. On this occasion Chief Education Officer, Deputy Chief Education Officer and officials of the district administration were also present.Later similar function was organised by Social Welfare Department at DIET Shopian and the department distributed two motorised tricycles, 22 hearing aid appliances, two tricycles, 17 wheel chairs and Cheque Amounting Rs: 9000/- each among the two sanctioned beneficiaries under the scheme.
