Governor Acharya Devvrat distributes 7.70 lakh to affected families of Kotla village

Governor Acharya Devvrat today visited Kotla Village in Banjar sub-division of district Kullu and enquired about the well-being of  families which were affected by the fire accident recently.He distributed 250 woollen jackets and handed over cheques of Rs 10,000 each to 77 affected families. He said that state was with them in this hour of need and assured them of full support.Governor also interacted with the villagers, school children and mahila mandals of the area who apprised him about various local issues. He gave them a patient hearing.He said that women and children could play a very significant role in eliminating social evils like untouchability and added that they should work for this cause by launching awareness campaigns. He asked them to educate everyone in the family, neighbourhood and added that the reform would take place only with the change in mindsets.  He said that every human was equal and no discrimination should be made on the basis of caste, creed etc.  

Acharya Devvrat asked the district administration to provide all possible help to the affected families so that things could be normal soon.Deputy Commissioner Kullu Sh Rakesh Kanwar apprised the Governor about the relief operations conducted by the district administration to provide timely help for the people of the village.Secretary to Governor Sh Pushpendra Rajput, Superintendent of Police Sh Padam Chand, SDM Banjar Sh Ashwini Kumar and officers of district administration accompanied the Governor on the occasion.
