Hurriyat (G) Conference Wednesday restructured its organization by appointing Syed Ali Geelani as its life time chairman, and made Shabir Shah as Secretary General.The organization also formed different committees to be headed by its leaders.IN a statement to KNS, Hurriyat (G) said that All Parties Hurriyat Conference held an important Advisory Council meeting (Majlis-e-Shura) at Hyderpora under the chair of its Chairman Syed Ali Geelani.The meeting was attended by the heads or representatives of Democratic Freedom Party, People’s League, Kashmir Freedom Party, Mass Movement, Anjuman Share-i-Shia, Jammu Kashmir Employees Movement, National Front, Tehreek-e-Khawateen Kashmir, Insaf Party, Democratic Political Movement, People’s Political League, People’s Freedom League, Tehreek-e-Wahadat-i-Islami, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat, Tehreek-e-Mazahamat, Muslim League, Kashmir Freedom Front and Islamic Political Party.

The meeting thoroughly discussed the prevailing political situations in Kashmir and Hurriyat also made some vital changes in the organizational structure under Article 20 of the Hurriyat constitution and in this regard different committees were constituted.The members in the meeting said that most of the pro-freedom leaders and parties of Jammu & Kashmir have assembled under the banner of Hurriyat Conference and seeing the unshakable, steadfast, uncompromised and active leadership of Syed Ali Geelani, the Hurriyat conference had accepted him as its lifetime Chairman with the result of that not only the people of Jammu & Kashmir but the people at international levels are looking towards this leadership.To come up to these expectations, Hurriyat chairman in the meeting formulated a course of action for the party constituents to make the Hurriyat Conference more proactive in the state.

Geelani constituted different committees and cells according to which Shabir Ahmad Shah will be Secretary General, while as Ghulam Nabi Sumji and Masarat Alam Bhat were appointed as deputies to Shah.

Shabir Ahmad Shah, Agha Hassan Al-Mousvi Al-Safvi, Ghulam Nabi Sumji, Masarat Alam Bhat, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Altaf Ahmad Shah and Altaf Ahmad Shah have been nominated as the members of the Committee for political and social affairs.Agha Hassan Al-Mousvi Al-Safvi was appointed as the provincial president for Ladakh and Kargil while as Nayeem Ahmad Khan was appointed as president for Jammu Province and Shahid Saleem has been appointed as his deputy.In the Organizing Committee, Altaf Ahmad Shah has been appointed as chief organizer and Mohammad Shafi Lone as his deputy. Muhatarmah Zamrooda Habib was appointed as the president of the Human Rights committee while as Mohammad Yousuf Naqash, Bilal Ahmad Siddiqi, Muhatarmah Fareeda Bahanji and Muhatarmah Yasmeen Raja were nominated as the members of the committee. In the committee for Information and Communication (Media Cell) Ayaz Akbar has been appointed as spokesman while as Ghulam Ahmad Gulzar and Hakeem Abdul Rasheed were nominated as deputies for this committee. Mohammad Shafi Reshi has been appointed as head of the Legal Committee (Lehal Cell) while as Bashir Ahmad Andrabi, Mohammad Yaseen Attaai and Devender Singh Bhail were appointed as members of the committee. Ghulam Mohammad Khan Sopori was nominated as the head of the committee for public contacts while as Nisar Hussain Rather has been named as his deputy.

At the end of the meeting, Geelani directed all the members of the forum to work according to the programs issued by the said committees and work to make the Hurriyat Conference stronger so that this forum will truly represent the wishes and aspirations of the people of Jammu & Kashmir.He said that we have to be very polite, serious and affectionate with each other and with the people of the state.Geelani also appealed for peaceful protest demonstration after the Friday prayers on 27 November against the unnecessary harassment and detention of the Palhallan youths and against the continuous detention of the Hurriyat leaders Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai, Shabir Ahmad Shah, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Ayaz Akbar, Raja Mehraj-ud-din Kalwal, Hafiz Abdul Ahad Sopore, Shakeel Ahmad Bhat, Rayees Ahmad Mir Bandipora, Abdul Gani Bhat Sopore and Mir Hafizullah Islamabad and against the ill-treatment of the Kashmiri detainees in the Tihar Jail Delhi.
