The Minister of State for PHE, Forest, Animal Husbandry and Irrigation & Flood Control, Abdul Majeed Paddar Friday urged people to support the efforts of the Government in ensuring cleanliness in and around habitations.The Minister said this while addressing a public gathering at D. H. Pora in Noorabad Constituency.On the occasion, the Minister distributed cheques worth Rs 3 lakh among 50 families of Ahamadabad village for construction of toilets under Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan (NBA). Cheques amounting to Rs 6000 were provided to each family as first instalment and Rs 6000 shall be provided as second instalment after completing the trench. Mr. Paddar stressed for carrying mass movement for cleanliness. He exhorted people to propagate the Swacch Bharat Mission so that Jammu and Kashmir emerges as a clean and hygienic State.He said millions of people across the country have been day after day joining the cleanliness initiatives.Mr Paddar urged youth particularly students to participate in the noble mission and help in spreading the message.The Minister said all the blocks of Noorabad Constituency will be covered under NBA to make this Constituency a Model Constituency.Officers from district administration Kulgam, Sarpaches and panches, besides youth were also present on the occasion.
