Army organised a  medical cum veterinary camp at village Kushal Colony, Tulibal, Baramulla today, defence spokesman said. “This was in response to the constant request by the locals of the area for medical attention as they find it difficult to get medical cover, being a remote area,” the spokesman added in a statement. He said a joint team of doctors from Army and State Health Department, including lady doctors, nursing assistant and paramedics participated in providing medical assistance to over 500 people, including men, women and children. Handouts on Himayat project launched by Govt of India were also distributed and a lecture on ‘Health & Hygiene' was conducted. Various other stalls, including a stall on HDFC Life Insurance & HP Gas Agency was also on display for the benefit of the locals. The Army, as per its spokesman, has been regularly organising medical camps in the Baramulla District.  The general populace in these areas is greatly benefited by these camps as there is a lack of medical facilities in these areas.  These camps also help in establishment of a rapport between the AWAAM & JAWAN. The continuous and relentless efforts of Indian Army towards conduct of such camps have been greatly appreciated and lauded by the public. (KNS)
