At least 18 Taliban militants were killed in operations carried out by Afghanistan security forces over the last 24 hours, the country's Interior Ministry said on Sunday."In the past 24 hours, Afghan Security Forces conducted several anti-terrorism operations in provinces across the country. As a result, 18 militants were killed and six others were arrested," Xinhua cited the ministry as saying in a statement providing daily operational updates.Earlier on Sunday, the Afghan Defence Ministry confirmed that a total of 12 army personnel were killed in separate attacks and roadside bombings across the country since Saturday.The Taliban militant group, which has been waging an insurgency, has yet to make comments.
