Minister for Forest, Ecology and Environment and Social Welfare, Mr Bali Bhagat yesterday laid foundation of Forest Training Centre at Barnoyan, Kishtwar.He also laid foundation of the complex for Gamma Unit of Forest Protection Force at Trersar, Kishtwar.He was accompanied by Minister of State for PWB (R&B) and Revenue, Mr Sunil Kumar Sharma and MLC Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo.The Minister was informed that the Forest Training Institute at Kishtwar will be a residential campus for forest officials.Speaking on the occasion, Mr Bali Bhagat stressed the need for effective surveillance of the forest assets by the FPF. He said Chenab Valley is an important natural factory for forest produce and the Forest Department is committed to conserve these distinct natural resources of the area.

Speaking on the occasion, Sunil Kumar Sharma said the idea of establishing such a training institute in Kishtwar will prove handy in development of forest experts. He announced that more developmental programmes for the Kishtwar area are in pipeline and the welfare of the common masses is on top priority.Commission Secretary Forests, Mr. Sanjeev Verma, Chief Conservator of Forests, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Mr G N Balwan, SSP Kishtwar, Sandeep Wazir and other District Officers were present on the occasion.
