Castigating PDP-led Government for worsening power situation in the Valley, National conference Wednesday accused that the PDP-BJP government has failed on all fronts and the people now feel insecure in their hands.“The deplorable electricity scenario has thrown life out of gear in Kashmir, with students and business community worst hit. Mufti Mohammad Syeed, who came into power with the promise that he will be giving free electricity to people, owes a lot of answers for making Kashmir to suffer,” NC senior leader and its General Secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar told KNS over phone.Sagar said that the government has miserably failed on all the fronts and the people now feel insecure in the hands of the PDP-BJP government.” PDP president had on record said that the PDP can spent 10 thousand Crore for the 24 hour power supply to the valley. I ask her what happened to her promise,”He said that it is the worst tragedy of our times that the people living in one of the most potential hydro-power generation areas are facing a power famine in their daily lives. “The students have been preparing for different university exams these days, and they have to face tremendous problems.

Similarly, the grim power scenario has been forcing the business community to shut down their operations too early in the evening,” he added. He said that the situation has gone from bad to worse in Srinagar, with the Power Development Department resorting to unscheduled pestering power cuts for hours together, even in the metered areas; he said and added the state of affairs is sad in the non-metered areas, where people have to face maximum brunt of the anti-people policies of the PDP-BJP government. The NC legislature said it was ironical, in a situation, when people have been paying hefty electricity dues. “In the rural areas, the authorities have been taking the masses for ride where electricity goes off for days together,”The NC leader said the latest curtailment schedule announced by the government is humiliating and insulting in all means which shall be revoked keeping in view the tough wintry conditions ahead.
