Hurriyat (M) Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Monday called the family of Gowhar Nazir Dar of Mustafabad, Zainakote, who was killed on Saturday, over phone and expressed his condolences and sympathy with his father and paid tributes to the martyred youth. In a statement issued to KNS, Hurriyat (M) spokesman in a statement said that Mirwaiz while expressing solidarity with the family of Gowhar, whose grandmother too had passed away on hearing about his grandson’s killing, prayed to the Almighty Allah to also grant her a place in Jannat-ul-Firdous and said people of entire Kashmir are with the bereaved family in such difficult times. He said the presence of military camps in villages and towns of Kashmir is one of the main reasons of the killings of civilian youth and called for immediate removal of these "killer camps".Calling for stern punishing to the killers of Gowhar Nazir Dar, the Hurriyat (M) Chairman said Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) and other black laws are used by the forces to indulge in gravest of human rights violations and get away with impunity. He said the forces uses these laws, which give them unbridled powers and get away with human rights violations, to encounter peaceful protestors with bullets and other lethal weapons.

Condemning the oppressive tactics used by the Indian forces on the peaceful and unarmed people of Shahr-e-Khas, the Mirwaiz said the naked aggression of the Indian forces against them specailly use of pepper gas was a worst kind of aggression and state-sponsored terrorism.Promising that the sacrifices of Gowhar and other martyrs would not be allowed to go waste, he said the cause for which these sacrifices had been offered would be taken to its logical conclusion.Meanwhile, a high-level delegation of Hurriyat (M) comprising of Muhammad Musadiq Adil, Abdul Majeed Wani and Ghulam Hassan Mir visited the Mustafabad Zainakote, residence of the martyred youth Gowhar where they expressed sympathies with the bereaved family on behalf of the entire Hurriyat leadership.Terming Gowhar’s martyrdom as a gross human rights violations carried by Indian forces, the Hurriyat (M) leadership said Gowhar’s killing is a shock for the entire Kashmiri nation.

They said for the past several decades, the blood of innocent Kashmiri youth has been spilled in every nook and corner of Kashmir and that these sacrifices will bear their fruit when the Kashmiri movement reaches its final destination.Meanwhile, an Hurriyat (M) spokesman strongly condemned the continued house arrest of the conglomerate’s Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, and arrests of senior hurriyat leaders Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, Ghulam Nabi Zaki, Javed Ahmad Mir, Engineer Hilal Ahmad War, Abdul Manan Bukhari, Ghulam Nabi Wasim, Parvez Ahmad Dar, Engineer Fayaz Ahmad and  other Hurriyat leaders.Terming it as state-sponsored terrorism, he said there was no legal or moral justification for the house arrests and harassment of the resistance leadership and called for their immediate release.Another Hurriyat (M) delegation comprising of Mushtaq Ahmad Sofi, Bilal Ahmad Zaid and Mir Imran visited SMHS and other hospitals to inquire about the condition of the people injured in the action by Indian forces during past several days and conveyed the message of solidarity of the Hurriyat leadership to them. The Hurriyat delegation expressed concern over the condition of the two youth of Palhalan Pattan, whose are severely injured by the pellets fired by the Indian forces and urged the hospital authorities to take extra care of these youth.
