District level Consultations Meeting was held under the Chairmanship of District Development Commissioner, Kathua, Ramesh Kumar at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Kathua today.The motive of District level Consultation Meeting is to seek opinion from all stake holders and to hold deliberations on New Education Policy.During the meeting all stake holders including CEO Kathua, Principal of Educational Institutions, Professors, District Officers, ZEO’s, Sarpanchs, students, parents and members from NGO were involved to suggest their opinions for devising a robust educational policy.
Threadbare discussion was held on various issues and questionnaires were given to different groups so that valuable opinions could be sought at district level for the formation of New Education Policy.
While speaking on the occasion DDC Kathua said that earlier policy was framed on the basis of trickle-down theory but now the Ministry of Human Resources Development Department, GOI is initiating the New Education Policy for which opinions have been sought from grass root level as mostly problems were faced at that level. Government of India has involved all stake holders of society for discussion on New Education Policy so that the new educational policy can be framed to meet the needs of the time, added Deputy Commissioner.It was informed by DDC Kathua that earlier discussions were held at village level, with village level education committee and also at block levels. He stressed that active participation of all stake holders can contribute in making of a practical educational policy.
