In a move aimed at giving further fillip to the holistic development of Bathinda and Mansa districts of the state, the Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today gave nod to initiate development projects of nearly Rs. 943 crore for these two districts.The Chief Minister, who held detailed deliberations with the MLAs of SAD-BJP alliance from these districts here at Punjab Bhawan this morning, underscored the need to provide ultra modern civic amenities to the populace residing in the villages and urban areas of these districts. He said that a major thrust would be given to the development of all these districts by ensuring the best civic amenities to the residents.

Mr. Badal said that the focus would be to refurbish the cities and rural areas with the state-of-the art facilities so that the residents could be benefitted from it on one hand and giving impetus to the overall development of the state on the other.The Chief Minister said that the state government has already sets the wheel in motion for ensuring the target of conclusive development of the state. Reiterating the firm commitment of the state government to provide best civic amenities to the residents of the state, Mr. Badal said that no stone would be left unturned for achieving this target. He said that the funds for this major project aimed at giving facelift to these districts have already been arranged and the work would be completed in a time bound manner adding that major thrust would be given on the quality of work so the state could be benefitted from it.Out of Rs. 270.94 Crore, the Chief Minister sanctioned Rs.72.70 Cr for the execution of development works in the Mansa constituency, Rs.134.33 Cr for Budhlada and Rs.63.91 for Sardulgarh. 

Likewise of Rs.671.98 Cr, Mr. Badal also gave a nod to sanction Rs.70.99 Cr. for Bathinda Rural, Rs.226.50 Cr for Bathinda, Rs. 58.05 crore for Bhucho, Rs.137.19 Cr. for Maur, Rs.74.61 Cr for Rampura Phull and Rs.104.64 Cr. for Talwandi Sabo. The Chief Minister reiterated that his top priority was water supply, roads and street lights and thus asked the Additional Deputy Commissioners of these districts to get these development projects executed under their direct supervision. Prominent amongst others who attended the meetings included Rajya Sabha Member Mr. Balwinder Singh Bhunder, Cabinet Ministers Mr. Janmeja Singh Sekhon, Mr. Sikander Singh Maluka, Chief Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Sarup Chand Singla, MLAs Mr. Prem Mittal, Mr. Chetan Singh Samao, Mr. Jeet Mohnider Singh Sidhu and Mr. Darshan Singh Kotfatta, Ex- MP Mrs. Parmjeet Kaur Gulshan, Additional Chief Secretary Mr. NS Kalsi, Secretary Local Government Mr. Vikas Partap, Secretary Mandi Board Mr. Deepinder Singh, Special Principal Secretaries to Chief Minister Mr. Gaggandip Singh Brar and Mr. Ajoy Sharma.
